About the role

Job Title: Senior GIS Technology Specialist / Developer (ArcGIS Enterprise Migration) Location: Brampton, ON (Hybrid) Number of Positions: 3 Employment type: Contract 1 year (strong possibility for extension for additional 1 year) Work Mode: Hybrid (Minimum 2 days onsite per week) Overview We are hiring three Senior GIS Technology Specialists/Developers to support a major enterprise GIS platform migration initiative. This role focuses on migrating and modernizing business-critical GIS applications from an ArcGIS Online SaaS environment to an ArcGIS Enterprise (v11.5) platform. This is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to the full decommissioning of an existing AWS-based GIS platform while enabling modern, scalable GIS capabilities across the organization. Key Responsibilities Lead migration, redevelopment, testing, and production readiness of GIS web and mobile applications Design and develop GIS solutions integrated with enterprise platforms (EAM, CRM, ERP) Provide expert-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent solutions for complex technical issues Collaborate with architects and project managers to provide development estimates and configuration recommendations for Esri product suite Define and validate solution architecture, including UI/UX design and backend system integration Develop and execute system, integration, and implementation test plans Prepare technical, system design, and backup/recovery documentation Implement high-quality production-ready system components Design reusable/shared components across development teams Mentor team members and provide technical leadership on complex initiatives Identify opportunities for process and system improvements Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices Required Qualifications & Experience University or college degree in Computer Science or Geography Post-bachelor’s diploma/certificate in Application Development, GIS, or related field Minimum 10 years of Esri web and mobile application development experience (or equivalent) Minimum 5 years of experience mentoring or guiding technical team members Technical Expertise Expert knowledge of ArcGIS 10/11.x product suite Strong experience with: ArcGIS JavaScript API ArcGIS Desktop SDKs (10/11.x) ArcGIS Pro 3.x ArcGIS Enterprise 11.x Development experience using: PowerBuilder, Python, Arcade Microsoft Visual Studio (C++, VB, C#, ASP.NET) Familiarity with industry technologies: Java, JavaScript, HTML5 XML, JSON, GEOJSON SOAP/REST web services Experience with SQL and Enterprise Geodatabases on SQL Server Strong understanding of: OOD, OOP, UML, MDA, SOA Experience integrating applications across desktop, web, WAN/LAN environments Knowledge of Agile, SDLC, PMBOK, COBIT, and ITIL frameworks Mandatory Certifications (Must Have) BA or BSc in Computer Science or Geography Advanced Diploma in Application Development or GIS Note: Candidates without the required certifications will not be considered.
