Hybrid Job: This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The amount of time required to work at a TCHC work location is flexible, while considering operational and service delivery requirements.

Make a Difference

Are you passionate about data analysis and looking for an opportunity to positively support the residents of our community? If so, the Data Analyst position at Toronto Community Housing may be for you!
The Data Analyst will be part of the Data Intelligence team, reporting to the Data Intelligence Manager within the Corporate Services division.
This role will be actively engaged with different business divisions to define metrics and KPIs that support strategic analysis and performance measurement.
The focus will be on initiatives that support the implementation of our new enterprise-wide Data Strategy.

What You'll Do

Data Analysis

  • Perform research and analysis on a regular and ad hoc basis to support data initiatives and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure the integrity, quality and accuracy of data from internal and external sources supporting data governance activities.
  • Support the development and enforcement of analytics standards and guidelines.
  • Tell impactful stories with data by designing and developing data visualizations and dashboards that are tailored for different audiences (e.g., executives, operational leaders, front-line teams).
  • Provide feedback on business metrics, performance measures and indicators to ensure the company has the necessary insight to monitor progress and improve business processes.
  • Conduct analysis to assist with the development of benchmarks and standards.
  • Assist in the development, standardization and maintenance of data definitions across the organization.

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Be a champion for TCHC’s newly formed Data Strategy.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with ITS and business units.
  • Provide advice, support and technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders about data administration, governance and analysis.
  • Effectively explain complex data concepts to non-technical audiences, helping to foster a culture of data-informed decision making.
  • Assist in the development and management of tools that track progress toward goals and outcomes defined in business unit plans.
  • Collaborate with analysts and other roles to interpret data, identify trends, communicate meaning and develop recommendations based on findings.

Research

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of data platform technology and analytics methodologies as well as government and TCH data policies and standards.
  • Contribute to ideas and actions towards continuous improvement of processes within business intelligence, analytics and data quality management.
  • Participate in research projects with external and internal partners.

What you’ll need

  • University Degree in computer science, analytics or other relevant specialty/discipline
  • 3 years - Previous experience performing data analysis and developing reports and dashboards to support strategic decision-making in a corporate environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, process and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and interest in social housing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerBI
  • Comfortable conducting statistical analyses, such as regression and time series
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts
  • Working experience with SQL (desirable)
  • Experience with Agile delivery methods (desirable)
  • Exposure to data architecture best practices
  • Previous experience in Data Governance, MDM and / or Data Quality initiatives
