MaKami College is seeking a detail oriented and tech savvy LMS Coordinator to support our learning environment and ensure a smooth, consistent experience for students, instructors, and staff.

In this role, you’ll manage the setup, configuration, and maintenance of our Moodle LMS courses, troubleshoot common issues, and work closely with our Learning and Instructional Design Manager to maintain high standards across all program content.

This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes role that directly supports student success and staff efficiency by ensuring everything within the LMS is accurate, accessible, and up to date for every cohort.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer Moodle course shells and organize course content by cohort/intake following established templates and standards.
  • Upload, install, and test SCORM packages and other eLearning objects to ensure proper tracking and completion.
  • Participate in testing and validation processes, including course setup checks, SCORM testing, and LMS updates.
  • Set up and manage gradebooks, assessment settings, and weighting structures aligned with program requirements.
  • Configure course settings such as sections, groups, and homeroom/cohort spaces.
  • Create and update LMS pages and resources, ensuring clear formatting and intuitive navigation for learners.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and replace broken links or missing resources; coordinate with content owners as needed.
  • Maintain correct availability settings, due dates, and activity completion criteria for timely content release.
  • Respond to LMS support requests from staff, instructors, and students; troubleshoot and escalate when appropriate.
  • Document processes, maintain checklists, and track changes with accuracy and consistency.

Education & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience administering an LMS in a production environment.
  • Experience in a post-secondary or training/continuing education environment is an asset.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, IT, Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Moodle experience preferred; comparable LMS experience considered.
  • Experience with SCORM packages, assessment setup, and gradebook configuration.
  • Strong comfort with web editors, web-based systems, and file management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong working knowledge of LMS administration, including course setup, roles/permissions basics, activities/resources, and gradebooks.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong habits for quality checks (dates, links, settings, content).
  • Ability to follow and contribute to documentation, SOPs, and structured workflows.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for LMS issues, SCORM behavior, permissions, and display problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and tasks with strong organization skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to translate requests into accurate LMS updates.
  • Comfort with basic web concepts and simple HTML.
  • Service-oriented, collaborative, and responsive.
