The office of the Chief Legal, Privacy and Governance Officer works on driving health and wellness innovation that supports business initiatives, effective change management, and team effectiveness, consistent with FNHA priorities, goals, directives, and values. Working with both internal and external partners and stakeholders, the team plays an essential role in providing leadership and strategic operational support for advancing our Multi-Year Health Plan goals, priorities, and objectives. This team leverages best practices in coordinating a response to emerging issues that require a comprehensive FNHA response.

Title: Privacy Analyst
Salary: $66,597 - $83,246 - $91,571 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours Monday - Friday (core hours- 9:00 am - 3:00 pm)
Location: Coast Salish Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh Nations - Metro Vancouver: Park Royal Office – Hybrid – min 3 days in the offices (Hybrid working is an option in line with the FNHA’s flex work policy).

Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway in Spring 2027.

About the role
As Privacy Analyst, you will provide applicable advice and recommendations on compliance with the BC Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and advise on privacy related issues across FNHA. You will support the administration and continuous improvement of FNHA’s privacy program. The position support in the completion of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs). Additionally, you will respond to general privacy inquiries and assists in responding to privacy breaches.

About you
To be successful in this role, the successful candidate will demonstrate a combination of education, experience, and competencies that align with FNHA’s values and operational needs.

Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Law, Computer Science, Health or a related discipline with 4 to 6 years of specialized experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Three years’ recent related experience in privacy area, including a minimum two years in developing PIAs.
  • Experience managing privacy incidents.

Occupational Certification

  • CIPP/C, CIPT, or CIPM designation is an asset

Knowledge and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of PIPA and other privacy legislation.
  • Understanding of privacy, governance and eHealth practices and trends, related legislation and requirements would be an asset.
  • Skilled computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and database programs such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and database management functions.
  • Strong understanding of privacy issues related to computer information systems, databases and electronic information management (i.e.: electronic medical records).

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
