About the team + role The Security Tooling team’s mission is to ensure the reliability, scalability, and availability of the critical third-party security software that Robinhood relies on. The team focuses on strengthening the reliability, efficiency, and impact of security engineering and operations by streamlining routine platform maintenance, reducing the likelihood of human error, and improving overall system security and resilience at scale.
As an Engineering Manager, you will establish and lead the Security Tooling function within Security Engineering. Work with various teams like Security Engineering and Security Operations to build scalable solutions for third-party security systems and services.

- Design and maintain the vision to deploy systems and tooling to address security engineering and operations for the company
- Build, coach, and mentor the team which will be responsible for implementing various tools and controls
- Ensure systems are secure and robust to meet requirements for various regulatory requirements
- Applying technical leadership and expertise to both your team and across Security Engineering and Security Operations
- Working with other engineering managers to refine and improve Robinhood's processes and systems
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience as a full-time engineering manager and 5+ years in hands-on technical roles, with a track record of leading high-impact engineering initiatives.
- Effective communication skills across multiple functions, facilitating collaboration with engineering, security, and business teams.
- Proficient in systems engineering, with a focus on building and operating resilient framework and infrastructure to support third-party (3P) security tools and services.
- Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance across integrated security platforms.
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices—such as Terraform and CloudFormation—for codifying configurations and managing secure, scalable, and auditable infrastructure.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits. Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed.
Base Pay Range Toronto, ON
$144,500—$170,000 CAD
