Medicine Hat College’s Athletics & Recreation department is seeking Recreation Assistant II (Camp Leaders) for their upcoming Sports Camps.

####A little about the role:

With a positive, energetic & enthusiastic attitude, the Recreation Assistant will teach children a variety of activities, adapting teaching methods & instructional materials to meet and exceed the needs of children of varying abilities. This position will also be responsible for enforcing all Camp policies and procedures.

####Details:

As a successful applicant you'll have:

  • Experience working with, instructing, and coaching children is required
  • Sport specific knowledge and experience is required
  • Current standard First Aid and CPR B is required
  • Previous camp experience and knowledge of the Sport and Wellness programs, services, and facilities is an asset
  • Must provide a valid criminal record check including vulnerable sector search to Human Resources prior to training.

Terms of Employment

Term of Appointment: Training: June 22 - 24, 2026
Camps: June 29 - August 31, 2026

Hours of Work: Up to 35 hours per week, on call as needed

Pay Rate: $16.99 per hour (Start Rate)
