Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Technical Sales Representative is responsible for supporting opportunities for new customer accounts, to achieve sales and growth targets. The position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and foster strong client relationships; maintain accounts, resolve issues, and provide advice for customers in support of sales growth.
- Identify sales prospects and follow up on new leads and referrals.
- Prepare presentations and proposals for external and prospective customers; emphasize service or product features and benefits, discuss credit terms, quote prices, and prepare sales order reports or forms.
- Ensure a high level of service by following up with new customers on product and service delivery, quality, and satisfaction to ensure that contracted obligations are met.
- Communicate with the Operations department in regard to client expectations, ensuring that a high level of service on delivery, quality, and satisfaction is maintained and that contracted obligations can be met.
- Drive revenue targets and other metrics identified to meet objectives as outlined for the sales team.
- Ensure ongoing and effective communication is undertaken with the Operations department, the Senior Management Team, and external contacts.
- Obtain feedback from customers on products, services, and market conditions, and provide to management.
- Monitor all documentation required for customers upon receipt of services/equipment.
- Perform maintenance and updating of customer accounts, including contact names for future sales.
- Meet revenue targets and other metrics identified to meet objectives as outlined.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of operation and functionality of field equipment and components as it relates to assigned service line.
- Participate in training and development activities.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications - Required
- Several years of industry-related business development experience and numerous years of practical experience in progressively responsible roles in the cementing services industry, soil stabilization industry, or other oil and gas services roles.
- Hold a valid Class 5 Driver's license.
- Able to work overtime and travel.
- Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
Qualifications - Looking For
- Business or Engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Relevant service line sales experience and industry knowledge, including knowledge of products and equipment, as well as service procedures.
- Customer service focused with excellent client management skills.
- Experienced in MS Office and other software tools.
- Good written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to negotiate, influence, and drive sales activities.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable.
- Flexible and able to adapt to change.
- Understands the importance of safety.
- Team player and customer service focused.
- Demonstrated initiative and results orientated.
Qualifications - Assets
- Demonstrated experience in new business development activities and expanding assigned market or sales territory.
