###About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and technically capableDeputy Program Managerto support engineering program execution and project governance across our marine operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring consistent project and quality management practices while supporting capital programs, vessel and terminal maintenance initiatives, and regulatory coordination.
Working closely with the VP Engineering and cross-functional teams, the Deputy Program Manager will help drive project oversight, engineering administration, and continuous improvement in maintenance and quality systems across the organization.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work onmarine vessels, terminals, and capital projectsacross Atlantic Canada while contributing to the long-term reliability and performance of critical transportation infrastructure.
###Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of standardizedproject management and quality management practicesacross the organization.
- Assist inproject tracking, reporting, and coordinationfor engineering initiatives.
- Administer internal programs includingE1, E2, and Charter Offsets.
- Support monitoring and reporting onengineering budgets and capital programs.
- Maintain and administerlong-range maintenance plansfor vessels and terminals.
- Coordinate engineering engagement withTransport Canadafor capital projects and regulatory requirements.
- Manage individual engineering or capital projects as assigned.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance ofengineering policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Support improvements tomaintenance management systems and tools.
- Manage and maintain engineering content onSharePoint and Compass intranet platforms.
- Overseeengineering documentation quality managementfor vessels and terminals.
- Administermajor project contracts and terms & conditions.
- Assist with coordination ofmajor repairs and maintenance activities, including contractor engagement.
- Manage engineeringdepartment administration, task lists, and meeting coordination.
- Monitor and support adherence to the organization’sAsset Modification policies and procedures.
###Qualifications and Experience
-Engineering degreeor equivalent education and experience inmarine engineering, project management, or quality management.
- Experience supporting or managingtechnical or engineering projects. -**Project Management certification (PMP)**or quality management certification considered an asset.
- Experience within themarine or maritime industrystrongly preferred.
- Experience withquality systems or ISO certification frameworksconsidered an asset.
- Leadership experience withinmarine operations or Transport Canada regulatory environmentsis an asset.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to workindependently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency withMicrosoft 365 toolsincluding SharePoint, Excel, Word, and Teams.
###Working Conditions
- Primarily anoffice-based role in Halifax, with regular travel to vessels, docks, and terminal facilities throughout Atlantic Canada.
- Requires avalid driver’s license and passport.
- Occasionalevening, weekend, and overnight travelmay be required.
- Must be able toaccess all areas of vessels and terminals, including climbing ladders and entering confined spaces where appropriate.
