Responsibilities: The Youth Support Worker will empower clientele to make positive choices that will help lead them towards self sufficiency while ensuring contract obligations are met.
Qualifications:
- Must be a good role model and demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle.
- Experience working with teenage youth.
- Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture.
- Maintain professional boundaries in and out of the workplace as outlined in the YWCA Code of Conduct and Ethics Agreement.
- Must be flexible and willing to learn.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Excellent communication (written & verbal), and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and building security;
- All applicants must have a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver’s license.
- Must pass Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Caring and compassionate attitude.
- Must be a positive role model of life and social skills for clientele.
Remuneration: $23.54 per hour

Duties:
- Work closely with young expectant mothers/mothers with young children.
- Help identify career goals, and barriers to employment and assist youth with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing resumes, and preparing for job interviews.
- Maintain building security & safe home environment.
- Prepare and cook for 10 or more youth.
- Maintain an accurate daily log.
- Plan fun & educational activities for youth.
- Support and guide the clients, teaching them responsibility/life skills as they transition into adulthood/independence;
- Ensure nightly cleaning duties are complete.
- Ensure major housecleaning duties are complete as well as normal everyday cleaning/chores.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Provide support and advocacy to the clients of the YWCA.
- Provide feedback to the Supervisor regarding clients.
- Provide feedback to the Supervisor on major issues and incident reports.
- Some administrative duties.
- Attend to crises as they arise during non-office hours. Contact the Manager in the event of a major crisis.
- Prioritize work, attending to the most urgent needs of the clientele first.
- Work unsupervised.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Any other duties as requested.
Probation: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three-month probationary period.
