Career Opportunities (sapsf.com) Duties and Responsibilities Reporting to the Executive Chef, the incumbent will assist with the co-ordination of kitchen production, catering production and VIP menus and events. Specific responsibilities include: assisting in product equipment selection while monitoring, daily, a large diverse number of incoming products from various suppliers to ensure compliance with departmental specifications and government regulatory boards. The incumbent will implement action to improve quality, service and cost controls for a large central production kitchen and assume the responsibilities of the Executive Sous Chef in his/her absence. Requirements
A three-year Community College diploma in a related field (i.e. Certified Chef de Cuisine) and three years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in the culinary field at a supervisory level and Canadian Red Seal for Cook preferred.
Additional requirements
Exceptional creativity and artistic skills. Strong leadership and mentoring skills. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Computer literacy and be able to work flexible shifts. Continuous industry involvement is required to obtain an awareness and working knowledge of current and emerging culinary trends. Employee Type: Regular Position Number: 10014306 Classification: P&M FT- Band 03 Professional/Managerial Salary Bands The target hiring salary for this position is minimum and up to 96% of midpoint for the salary grade. *Tentative evaluation; subject to committee review.
