About the role
We’re looking for a skilled, patient-focused Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon to join Dundurn Dental Specialty, our new specialty and advanced therapy clinic in Hamilton, Ontario, and a proud part of Passion Dental Group. This role will be central to the surgical and sedation-based services offered at the clinic and will support a strong internal and external referral network.
Whether you’re seeking a long-term practice home or a flagship location to anchor your specialty career, you’ll be joining a purpose-built environment designed for advanced care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Specifics about the role:
As a newly launched specialty clinic, most roles will begin on a part-time basis during regular business hours. As patient demand and services expand, there is strong opportunity for additional shifts and potential transition to full-time. We’re looking for specialists who are excited to grow alongside the clinic and become a long-term, trusted presence within both our team and the broader community.
Commission-based independent contractor opportunity. Engagement and compensation are governed by an executed independent contractor agreement. This is not an employee role.
About the Clinic:
Located minutes from McMaster Children’s Hospital and just off Highway 403, Dundurn Dental Specialty is a newly built, multidisciplinary specialty centre intentionally designed to support complex care. The clinic will house centralized imaging, advanced sedation capabilities, and a full complement of dental specialists, enabling seamless collaboration and an exceptional referral experience.
What you’ll do:
- Diagnose and surgically manage complex oral and maxillofacial conditions, including impacted teeth, pathology, trauma, and reconstructive cases
- Perform dentoalveolar surgery, surgical extractions, bone grafting, implant placement, and related procedures
- Provide IV and oral sedation services in accordance with regulatory standards and patient safety protocols
- Collaborate closely with orthodontists, general dentists, periodontists, and prosthodontic providers to support comprehensive treatment planning
- Educate patients and referring providers on treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes
- Maintain detailed, accurate patient records using the clinic’s digital systems
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Specialist certification in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
- Registration and good standing with the RCDSO
- Strong surgical judgment and a patient-centred approach to care
- Comfort working in a multidisciplinary, referral-based environment
- Excellent communication skills with both patients and referring clinicians
- Experience with sedation and surgical case coordination is an asset
