Branch Administrator
Raymond James Ltd. (RJL) is seeking a qualified Branch Administrator to lead the administrative function at the Calgary corporate branch.
How does the role impact the organization?
The primary role of the Branch Administrator is to provide ongoing operational and administrative support to the Branch Manager (BM), Branch Compliance Supervisor (BCS), and our advisory teams. We are a service-first organization, and the Branch Administrator helps ensure that the office runs efficiently & effectively, to deliver an excellent employee and client experience.
What is the position responsible for?
- Be the key point of contact for support staff and advisors regarding operations or administrative tasks within the branch;
- Assist BM in the supervision of Financial Advisors, Sales Assistants and support staff in dealing with their work concerns and interactions with back office;
- Liaison with internal departments and external vendors/suppliers on behalf of the branch including Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, and Facilities;
- Dotted line leadership of our Support Staff. Prepare and lead regular meetings and coordinate the Performance Evaluation process for support staff;
- Assist BM in overall operations and leadership of the branch, including expense management, business planning, and recruitment.
- Assist BM in achieving business objectives including preparation of branch budgets, the reviews of month-end financial reports, and the resolution of variances;
- Coordinate branch activities such as team building events, charitable activities, workshops, and lunch & learns;
- Maintain a working knowledge of the industry rules and regulations as well as RJL policies and procedures, to ensure adherence with internal and external audit requirements;
- Assist with registration renewals, continuing education and training requirements;
- Participate in training opportunities to remain current on skills, knowledge, policies and processes. Share your knowledge with peers and staff and call upon others’ knowledge and experience as required;

- Knowledge of fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry.
- Competent in the Canadian regulatory environment;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with a willingness and ability to learn new applications;

- Work within deadlines in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining a high level of service and professionalism;
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and tact;
- A high level of attention to detail is required;

- Exercise discretion and professionalism in the handling of confidential information
- Demonstrate advanced face-to-face, email, videoconferencing, telephone etiquette and relationship management skills;
- Strong delegation and time-management skills.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years in the Investment Brokerage or Financial Services Industry;
- Diploma or degree or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training;
- Previous team leadership or management experience is an asset.
Licenses/Certifications
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) is an asset
- Human resources or management training is an asset
