The Role Our client, is seeking an Accounting Associate to join their team on an 8-month contract. This role provides key support to the accounting team, reporting directly to the Controller. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced office environment.
ADVANTAGES
- Hourly wage: $20 - $24/hr, based on experience
- Full-time, 8-month contract with potential for extension
- Monday to Friday daytime schedule
- Work in a supportive team environment with exposure to diverse accounting functions
Responsibilities
- Provide Accounts Payable support, including invoice entry in NetSuite and approval management
- Maintain transaction postings and general ledger reconciliations in QuickBooks
- Support the accounting team in their absence and assist with day-to-day tasks
- Manage credit card processes and act as a liaison with vendors to resolve discrepancies
- Prepare BTI invoices and TMS file uploads as required
- Assist with monthly and year-end closings, and financial statement preparation
- Support accounts receivable tasks and customer statement reconciliations
- Assist with audit preparation and coordination
- Help implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures
- Perform any other accounting or administrative duties assigned by the Controller
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Business, Accounting, or a related financial field
- Minimum 2+ years of related experience (CPA not required)
- Experience with accounts payable, reconciliations, and maintaining schedules
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; NetSuite and QuickBooks experience is an asset
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and work independently
- Confidentiality and attention to detail are essential
