Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director Assistant to support our funeral home team in providing respectful and professional services to grieving families. This role involves assisting with funeral arrangements, coordinating logistics, and ensuring that all aspects of the funeral process are handled with sensitivity and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a willingness to learn, and physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks.

Duties

• Assist funeral directors in coordinating funeral services, viewings, and memorials to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintaining fleet of vehicles - washing, polishing, fluids, etc.
• Support families by providing general information about available services, demonstrating empathy, compassion and professionalism.
• Prepare and transport caskets, floral arrangements, and other funeral items, including heavy lifting as needed (may include occasional pallbearer duties).
• Preparing visitation rooms/chapels, arranging floral displays, managing parking, setting up equipment, etc.
• Ability to work in various religious venues, with direction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the funeral home facilities to uphold a respectful environment.
• Limited administrative paperwork and reporting functions.
• Previous experience in sales or customer service is advantageous but not required; training will be provided.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely is essential.
• Assisting with removals and transfers from homes, hospitals, long term care facilities.

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
