About the role

Join the Town of Blackfalds! 

The Town of Blackfalds is seeking a friendly, organized, and community-minded individual to join our Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) team as an Administrative Assistant.

In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative environment where your contributions truly matter. From greeting clients and assisting with applications to coordinating referrals and supporting the FCSS Manager and Board, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly.

 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide front desk and receptionist services with warmth and professionalism

  • Assist clients with forms, applications, and referrals to appropriate services

  • Attend monthly FCSS Board meetings and record minutes

  • Support the FCSS Manager with administrative tasks and Board business

  • Help ensure efficient office, program, and event coverage

  • Foster a positive customer service philosophy across the department

Your Skills and Abilities:

  • A team-first attitude and strong communication skills

  • Experience in office administration and computer applications

  • Ability to stay organized and calm in a busy, sometimes pressurized environment

  • Respect for confidentiality and a commitment to excellent service

 What You Bring:

  • Minimum Grade 12 education with relevant training.

  • 2+ years of administrative experience.

  • RCMP Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

  • Valid Driver’s License with current Driver’s Abstract.

  • Child Intervention Check.

  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR.

This is a full-time, three-month term position with the potential for extension. The standard work schedule is a 35-hour week, which may include evening and weekend hours depending on the programming and events schedule.

The hourly range for the FCSS Administrative Assistant is $27.48 / hour - $30.80 / hour as per the CUPE Local 417 Collective Agreement.
