Position Overview
The Warehouse Manager is accountable for the daily performance of each department within their facility in a productive and safe manner. The individual will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day workflow to meet daily operational targets and coordinate work volumes and ensure correct staffing levels are maintained. Responsibilities include planning of weekly and monthly workload, equipment maintenance, security, health and safety procedures as well as the identification and correction of potential workflow bottlenecks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees processes and procedures to ensure on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and the effective and efficient operation through appropriate metrics and targets.
  • Maintain Inbound and Outbound operations by initiating, coordinating, and by ensuring compliance to operational processes, policies and procedures.
  • Effectively plan, schedule, and manage daily workloads by monitoring demand and volume to ensure operational efficiency. This includes overtime planning and scheduling.
  • Manage KPIs and performance metrics to ensure daily productivity targets are met, while promoting employee engagement to achieve consistent results
  • Plan and maintain weekly staffing requirements based on projected volumes and adjust labour needs accordingly.
  • Collaborates with the planning team daily to understand the workload to be executed to fulfil the priorities for other facilities.
  • Evaluate and discuss daily and weekly reports amongst the facilities, to communicate targets to Supervisors to ensure productivity levels are achieved.
  • Balance resources between departments and facilities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Train supervisors and support supervisors on all job functions, safety procedures and company policies.
  • Evaluate supervisors and support supervisors’ performance through approved performance management processes and coaching methods, providing fair and consistent feedback throughout the year, including during annual performance reviews.
  • Works in partnership with HRBP Operational team to reinforce employee engagement efforts and labor relations support.
  • Works in partnership with the Operational Excellence team and management teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, increase productivity and improve quality.
  • Drives H&S initiatives by partnering with JHSC, investigating incidents/accidents, completing reports, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years of Warehousing Management experience in a unionized environment is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, process engineering or similar
  • Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Manufacturing Principal background preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel and Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Possess a sense of urgency required to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and conflict resolution skills
  • Planning and resource allocation skills
  • Shift timings and scheduled days of work may be subject to change based on business requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • The primary work location will be at the Company’s warehouse facility in Mississauga
  • The position requires on-site attendance, five (5) days per week.
  • Employee may be required to travel between company office and warehouse facilities as business needs dictate.
