Senior Training Coordinator

Job Description Position Summary : The Senior Training Coordinator plays a key role in designing and delivering training to Fedcap Canada, Service Providers’ staff members, and partners. Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager in Fedcap Canada’s Learning and Development team, the Senior Training Coordinator will lead the development of a training curriculum in compliance with requirements, focusing on best practices in economic and workforce development. Success in this role will be measured through established KPIs outlined below.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintaining and updating the training curriculum in compliance with the requirements
- Leading the team of Training Coordinators
- Developing internal and external focused training materials
- Delivering training in-person and online, and coordinating logistics
Needs Analysis
- Conduct ongoing needs analysis informed by the 60+ Service Providers in the network, alongside the Ministry, Employers, the Senior Leadership, Service Delivery, and other internal teams.
- Be a key point of contact for all training-related stakeholders internally and externally, working in close collaboration with the Training Coordinators, Learning and Development Manager, and Director of Employer Services.
- Source and integrate new resources across the top in-demand sectors and topics, resulting in the launch of 4 to 6 new high-priority training modules annually, where appropriate.
Curriculum Design and Implementation
- Ensure that >90% of curriculum updates are tied directly to documented needs analysis, funder updates, and SLT requirements while developing a customized curriculum informed by best practice that addresses the specific knowledge and skills needed to support unemployed individuals and those living with barriers to unemployment in returning to sustainable work.
- Leverage Articulate 360, Canva, Camtasia, along with other relevant tools to create high quality trainings.
- Incorporate aspects of updated and evidence-based workforce practices for adult learners as applicable into training curricula.
- Engage in ongoing research and attend trainings to stay informed about current trends in workforce development models training, completing a minimum of 30 hours of learning annually.
- Integrate new skills and knowledge into current training as needed, based upon changing trends in workforce development, updating core curriculum modules by 15% semi-annually.
Training Delivery
- Train workforce professionals, both internal and external staff, in traditional or online environments on established curriculum and training topics, delivering training to an average of 700 professionals annually and achieving an average participant satisfaction score of 4.5 out of 5.
- Utilize the most relevant and up-to-date technology and tools available to deliver in-person and online training, and streamline the evaluation and feedback loop.
- Help lead and improve key existing and new training initiatives for Fedcap Canada, resulting in a 15% increase in post-training competency scores across all major initiatives.
Administrative Support & Data Management
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the Training Coordinators, to ensure appropriate distribution of workload while meeting training needs and requirements from the Ministry, the Senior Leadership Team, and the Service Provider network, maintaining team adherence to project deadlines at a 90% success rate.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of training and incorporate updates to the training as needed for continuous excellence, reviewing 100% of core curriculum modules at least once every 12 months.
- Measure and report on training efforts and outcomes, demonstrating increased effectiveness of the training offered by Fedcap Canada, and submit all required monthly performance reports with 100% accuracy and on time.
Collaboration & Strategic Support
- Build relationships with internal teams to support the development of appropriate training solutions, aligning training plans with 5-6 key internal departments annually.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Human Resources, Communications, Social Work, or related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in building, delivering, facilitating, and evaluating training portfolios.
- Previous experience in leading and evaluating training activity, demonstrating measurable outcomes such as increased training effectiveness or participant satisfaction.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor complex information to diverse internal and external audiences, including Service Provider staff and management.
- Experience with Learning Management System administration.
- Prior experience with e-learning design and development.
- Bilingual French is a plus.
Compensation $60,000 to $75,000 CAD
