We are currently seeking an initiative-taking and purposeful individual for the position of Administrative Support Coordinator in our Nanaimo, BC location. This position is responsible for daily administration, supporting operations, assisting customers, and will report to the Branch Manager.
Hours of Work - Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 PM with a 1-hour unpaid lunch
Key Responsibilities
- All duties related to everyday administration processes/controls in line with Russel Metals policies
and procedures.- Includes daily invoices, maintaining filing systems - physical and electronic records, supporting accounting process, order supplies, and assisting customers.
- Support daily shipping processes and provide solid back up for scheduling RMI trucks.
- Daily receiving duties related to inbound material and supplies.
- Support inventory control and processes.
- Support Operations Manager with administrative tasks.
- Provide solid backup to operations production schedule.
- Work in conjunction with Regional Administration
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word & Excel
- Accuracy and attention to details, strong analytical, time management & organizational skills
- Self motivated team player
- Strong communication skills (Oral & written) must be fluent in English
- Solid interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and build report with internal & external customers
- Self motivated Team player with strong problem-solving skills
Preferable:
- Experience in industrial & commercial shipping
- 1 - 2 years prior admin experience
Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000

The main steel products sourced by this segment are carbon steel plate, flat rolled products, beams, channel and pipe.
