The Department of Families is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Resource Coordinator position located in The Pas/Flin Flon.
The Manitoba Government offers a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health care, a health spending account, dental care, vision care, long-term disability insurance, group life insurance, maternity and parental leave, family-related leave, and a defined benefit pension plan (some pension plans allow for portability between the Civil Service Superannuation Board and participating employers).
Duties:
The Resource Coordinator is responsible for duties relating to the delivery of services for multiple programs that may include the Child and Family Services, Community Living disabilities and Children’s disabilities Services programs. Services are delivered in accordance with the Child and Family Services Act and the Vulnerable Persons Act, along with the corresponding Standards and service delivery principles. Primary duties involve hiring and management family support/direct service workers; ongoing monitoring and reporting regarding compliance with program legislation and policies; providing program information to Social Workers, Family Support/Direct Service Workers, parents and community groups; and the development of new home and community services.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Post secondary education in Human or Social Services with related work experience. Other combinations of related education, training and experience may be considered.
- Experience working with children and families in a social service setting to plan, coordinate or implement services.
- Experience in human resource management activities such as recruitment and labour relations, preferably within a unionized environment, and the ability to lead and supervise a team.
- Experience interpreting and applying acts, regulations and/or policies and procedures.
- A strong understanding of cultural and socio-economic differences.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive working relationships with a variety of groups.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Effective written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise correspondence for a variety of audiences.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suits including Word, Excel and Outlook.
