JOB TITLE:
YOUTH SERVICES WORKER | #2147
SERVICE AREA:
Vocational & Community Services
LOCATION:
Vancouver, BC
START DATE:
May 04, 2026 (ending August 21, 2026)
TERM/STATUS:
Temporary Full Time
SCHEDULE/HRS:
Flex based schedule (possible weekend and evening shifts) // 37.5 hours per week
HOURLY WAGE:
$22.00
THE ROLE:
This position provides life skills training to youth with disabilities between the ages of 17 to 19. The successful candidate will teach life skills such as: achieving independence, obtaining identification, touring colleges, banking, applying for Persons with Disabilities Benefits, using transit and exploring job opportunities. The candidate will co-facilitate in Family Support groups and develop resource guides for families. They will act as an advocate for client groups in the community, assist in community development and provide public education on topics related to disability issues.
-This position is subject to funding by Canada summer jobs. Position is conditional based on approval of application request by Service Canada.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary education or training in a related field (Social Services, Human Services, or Education)
- Must be between ages of 18-30 at intake time, legally entitled to work in Canada
Standard requirements of the Program Worker include:
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Medical Clearance
- Valid First Aid/CPR
- Demonstrated competency in English
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and use of a car is an asset -Must be Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold Refugee status
