Grade**:** SGEU.05.
The Ministry of Justice is seeking an energetic, service-oriented individual to coordinate appeals for the Automobile Injury Appeal Commission. The Commission hears personal injury benefit entitlement appeals in accordance with The Automobile Accident Insurance Act. The office is located in Regina. Hearings are regularly held in Regina, Prince Albert and Saskatoon.
Under the direction of the Commission’s Manager of Operations, you will work with other staff members to oversee the front line service delivery to the general public, clients, solicitors and other stakeholders explaining the appeal and injury claim processes. You will also open and distribute mail, including cash, administrative and operational documents. After reviewing applications to ensure appeal requirements are met, you will correspond verbally or in writing to correct discrepancies and discuss relevant documentation. You will enter information onto a database to compile statistics and organize evidence while completing case management duties to ensure deadlines are met. You will have knowledge of a variety of software applications and an ability to operate computer, office and recording equipment. As the successful candidate, you will also be responsible for ordering supplies and processing accounts payable and receivables. You will extensively review documentation filed by the parties in an appeal in order to resolve problems and identify discrepancies requiring creative solutions.
You may be required to travel and you must hold a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 drivers license.
You will have developed knowledge and skills through formal training and/or related work experience in a court/legal administrative environment. You will have considerable knowledge of administrative tribunals or court operations and procedures. You will have ability to deal with issues of a sensitive and confidential nature with tact and diplomacy.
