About the role
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Commissioning & Project Analytics, this role is responsible for supporting our quality assurance and quality control processes, with a strong focus on pre-functional testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment for various large Electrical construction projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review project documentation including electrical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and as-built drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of project-specific QA/QC documentation using existing company templates and procedures.
- Support the administration of the company’s QA/QC program across active projects.
- Review contract documents and specifications to ensure alignment with project scope, commissioning requirements, and quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections and field verifications to confirm installations meet project drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Track and manage deficiencies, punch list items, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and assist in coordinating corrective actions with project teams.
- Assist in developing and maintaining QA/QC Plans and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for electrical equipment and systems.
- Support pre-functional testing activities and commissioning for electrical systems, including coordination with commissioning authorities and project stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation including pre-functional checklists, inspection reports, test reports, and turnover documentation.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Superintendents and Foremen to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment across project teams.
- Participate in site walks with Project Managers and Site Superintendents to assess installation progress and verify quality of work.
- Attend project meetings, coordination meetings, and commissioning meetings as required, and provide updates on QA/QC and commissioning activities.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable codes and standards, including ASHRAE, Canadian Electrical Code, and CSA guidelines.
- Participate in field activities to monitor progress, verify installations, and support overall project execution.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, OR Journeyperson Electrician certification with relevant electrical construction experience
- 5+ years of experience in electrical construction, QA/QC coordination, commissioning, or related construction roles
- CET Certification or in progress
- Experience working with commercial electrical systems
- Familiarity with pre-functional testing, commissioning processes, and project turnover documentation
- Experience supporting site inspections, deficiency tracking, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and QA/QC documentation
- Understanding of electrical distribution systems and building electrical infrastructure, including switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, generators, etc.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft office applications. This would include but is not limited to excel, word and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with platforms such as CxAlloy, Facility Grid, or similar tools.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams
- Excellent communication skills with full fluency in English
- Demonstrated leadership and coordination abilities, with the capacity to support and guide project teams when required.
- May be required to assist with mechanical QAQC and testing activities as needed, supporting cross-discipline coordination to ensure all building systems meet project quality standards.
TRAVEL:
- 25-30 % travel to active project sites is required for this position.
