EarlyON Program Assistant
LOCATION: Toronto, ON
POSITION TYPE: casual hours flexible (varied up to 37.5 hours/week)

The Program Assistant will be responsible for supporting the delivery of child and family centred, welcoming, high quality and inclusive programming for children (birth to 6 years) and their families for the EarlyON Child and Family Centre – Lumenus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement the mandatory core EarlyON services: engaging parents and caregivers; supporting early learning and development and, making connections for families.
Program Implementation

Support the implementation of the mandatory core EarlyON services: engaging parents and caregivers; supporting early learning and development and, making connections for families.

Support the development and delivery of programs/services that are guided by the following principles: child and family-centred; welcoming; high quality and inclusive
-
Assists with program setup, clean-up, general health and safety of environment
-
Collect appropriate program data/evaluation according to Ministry standards.

Refers families to appropriate community resources as needed.

Participates in/contribute to monthly team meetings.
-
Assists with basic EarlyON outreach and promotion efforts
-
Participates in professional development.
-
General administrative duties as required.
Admini****stration

Assist with planning and purchasing of nutritious food for program snacks
-
Assist with maintaining program attendance
-
Assist and participate in the completion of reports including evaluation/feedback and debriefing.

Assist with the planning and implementation community events involving health promotion for families with young children
-
Participate in monthly team meetings
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
-
Early Childhood Education degree/diploma and a member in good standing with College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE) OR equivalent training/experience.

Direct work with young children and families; awareness of community resources

Satisfactory clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Screening process
