About the role
We are seeking a licensed and experienced Body Shop Worker specializing in body repair and refinishing to join our team in York Region. This hands-on role involves working on school and transit buses, performing structural repairs, dent removal, welding, sanding, and full-body refinishing. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in collision repair and a strong eye for detail, with the ability to restore vehicles to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform extensive body repairs including straightening, dent removal, rust removal, and panel replacement
- Conduct spot welding, cutting, and light fabrication using industry-standard tools and techniques
- Align and pull vehicle body components to restore structural integrity
- Sand and prep surfaces for primer and painting
- Apply paint using spray equipment to achieve a smooth, even finish
- Buff and polish painted surfaces to factory-level quality
- Reassemble body components and perform final inspections to ensure quality and safety compliance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all workplace health and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Licensed Auto Body & Collision Damage Repairer (310B)
- Experience in automotive or commercial vehicle body repair
- Proficient in welding (spot, MIG/TIG preferred), panel beating, and metal finishing
- Skilled in sanding, priming, painting, and polishing techniques
- Familiarity with body alignment tools, measuring systems, and frame straightening equipment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Physically capable of standing, lifting, and performing manual work for extended periods
- Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Preferred Assets
- Experience working with buses or large commercial vehicles
- Knowledge of fiberglass and aluminum body panel repairs
- Valid driver?s license
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
