About the role
Plan Group is looking for an experienced HVAC Foreman to work on-site in Ottawa, ON.
You’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems on commercial and institutional projects. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring someone who takes pride in quality work and values working safely alongside a team.
As an HVAC Foreman, you will:
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems according to mechanical drawings and specifications
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, completing repairs efficiently
- Oversee daily HVAC work on-site and provide guidance to junior team members
- Work closely with other trades and project teams to coordinate tasks and meet deadlines
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with codes and regulations
- Maintain accurate records and complete documentation using tools such as SharePoint
- Communicate clearly with clients, team members, and vendors
Qualifications:
- Strong supervisory skills with experience in team oversight
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
- Valid 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic license
- Valid Gas Technician 1 (G1) license
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience working on active construction sites, preferably in commercial or institutional settings
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and SharePoint for documentation
- Professional, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
