The Quality Assurance Inspector performs daily inspections, prepares accurate reports, and supports the Quality Assurance Integrity Management System to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards. The role manages inspection compliance and deferrals, conducts quality surveillance audits, and reviews RBI based asset strategies to provide technical assurance. It also develops and refines inspection intervals, scopes, and repair plans to maintain asset integrity and reliability throughout the operating cycle.

Minimum Requirements:
- 5 Years of QA/QC related experience with project management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineeringOR
- Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology
- Valid API 510, and API 570 certifications (API 653 is an asset)
- Valid ASBA IPV or IBPV certifications
- CWB Lev.2 with W59, ASME Sec IX, & B31.3 endorsements would be an asset
- Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the organization’s Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) journey by promoting learning, strengthening safety culture, and participating in incident investigations to drive prevention and continuous improvement
- Steward and support the Integrity Management System (QA‑IMS), ensuring consistent application of OEMS processes, corporate technical standards, compliance requirements, and best practices
- Lead and execute field inspections, inspection planning, compliance management (including deferrals), and inspection activities during routine maintenance, outages, and turnarounds
- Develop, review, and optimize RBI‑based asset strategies, including inspection intervals, scopes, and repair plans to maintain asset integrity throughout the operating cycle
- Conduct quality surveillance and participate in internal and external audits to verify adherence to regulatory and corporate standards
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate, audit‑ready inspection documentation, inspection reports in ALIM and SharePoint
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to analyze reliability issues, identify long‑term static equipment improvement opportunities, and implement advanced inspection technologies to enhance asset performance and MTCE effectiveness

You will work out of Suncor Base Plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta

Shift schedule is Monday to Friday with the flexibility to support extended hours as required

This position is safety sensitive as well as security sensitive

A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record is required
