What You Will Do Our Toronto office is seeking undergraduate students to join the team as a Co-op student in Fall 2026 as a part of our Risk Services practice.

Our Cyber Security Team Embarking on a career with our Cybersecurity Services team offers you the chance to empower our clients in establishing a robust cybersecurity program that not only safeguards against emerging threats but also fosters transformation and drives sustainable growth. As organizations transition to a digital business model, the volume of data generated and shared among enterprises, partners, and customers increases exponentially. We play a pivotal role in ensuring our clients are well-protected by crafting transformation strategies centered on security, seamlessly integrating and managing both new and existing technology systems to facilitate continuous operational enhancements and optimizing their cybersecurity investments. As a Co-op Student, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Support the project manager with day-to-day activities, ensuring smooth project execution and coordination.
  • Oversee and maintain the project planning tool (an Excel-based tool), ensuring all project timelines and deliverables are accurately tracked.
  • Send out daily status reports to stakeholders, summarizing project progress and any issues that may arise.
  • Assist with and execute technical cyber-related tasks with our operational teams.
  • Assist in developing executive-level weekly reports and metrics, providing insights into project performance and status.
  • Engage in various ad-hoc project management-related tasks, such as managing the RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions) log and tracking team vacations.
  • Establish effective working relationships directly with clients.
  • Understand and help solve our clients’ cybersecurity problems.
  • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen.
  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your KPMG brand.

You demonstrate

  • Proficient in using Excel for data analysis, reporting, and project tracking. Experience with advanced Excel functions is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage project documentation and reporting.
  • Understanding and knowledge of managing aspects of cyber risk, including assessment, analysis and reporting of cyber risk in a business context.
  • Understanding and applying risk management principles to effectively manage cyber risk.
  • Implementing business resilience strategies to minimize the impact of a cyber incident.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience.

KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information The expected base salary range for this position is $45,000 to $62,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
