About The Role We’re looking for a collaborative and technically strong professional to join our team as a Solution Architect - Architecture. In this role, you will design, guide, and communicate architectural patterns across multiple projects without direct management responsibilities. You will ensure alignment with enterprise goals and best practices while enabling teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. You will work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to provide architectural leadership, influence decisions, and advocate for technical excellence. The Solution Architect will also collaborate with the Solution Architect – Software Engineering to achieve optimal architectural and software outcomes for the Application Development team.
What You’ll Do
- Architectural Design & Patterns – Define, document, and evolve architectural patterns, reference architectures, and best practices for cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Solution Oversight & Project Support – Oversee architecture for multiple concurrent projects, providing solution guidance, validating designs, and reviewing implementations for compliance.
- Communication & Stakeholder Collaboration – Clearly communicate architectural vision, design decisions, and trade-offs to engineers, product managers, and leadership.
- Continuous Improvement & Research – Stay current with evolving cloud technologies, emerging frameworks, and industry best practices to enhance scalability and reliability.
- Influence technology decisions across engineering teams through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure systems are secure, cost-optimized, resilient, and scalable while aligning with AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and observability practices.
- Enable consistent and efficient delivery of solutions by establishing clear patterns.
- Drive alignment with enterprise governance and long-term maintainability objectives.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in an architecture, technical lead, or similar role.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing cloud-native solutions at scale.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services such as S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, CloudWatch, EKS/ECS, and EC2.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to lead effective technical and non-technical conversations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: College/University degree preferred
- Experience with NodeJS, NestJS, and TypeScript for application development.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
- Preference given to AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional.
- Solid experience in developing and measuring KPIs to improve delivery quality and estimation accuracy.
Current Location : Mississauga. Our Mississauga office will move to 1 Adelaide in Toronto in September 2026.
The hiring base salary range for this position is $111,100 - $152,800 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
