Aspen View Public Schools, with a division office located in the town of Athabasca, is a rural school division providing diverse and innovative programming to students in a number of communities. The division is unique in that it is surrounded by a multitude of lakes, golf courses and trails that appeal to an active, outdoor lifestyle while still being in close proximity to larger urban centers.
Thorhild Central School is a K–12 school located in the hamlet of Thorhild in north-central Alberta, approximately 100 km northeast of Edmonton. Serving about 340 students from the community and surrounding area, the school offers a welcoming, student-centered environment with a strong focus on academic achievement and personal growth. A Great Beginnings (Pre-Kindergarten) program and an onsite daycare also operate within the school, supporting early learning and family needs.
Thorhild Central School offers the full suite of Grade 12 courses required for high school completion and post-secondary success, supported by a diverse Career and Technology Studies program that includes foods, art, drama, outdoor education, fitness, carpentry, mechanics, robotics, cosmetology, the Registered Apprenticeship Program, Work Experience, and the Green Certificate.
The school provides a range of extracurricular opportunities, including athletics such as volleyball, basketball, badminton, archery, and track and field, as well as programs like drama, robotics, outdoor education, and art-focused clubs. These activities support student engagement, skill development, and a strong sense of school community.
Thorhild Central School is recruiting to a Junior/Senior High Math and Science Teacher. The assignment will include Chemistry and Physics, 30 level math and possibly junior high math and science as well as STEM
This position will commence on August 26, 2026.
