This position is being offered as part of the 2026 Summer Employment Opportunities (SEO) Program. The intention of the program is to provide career-related experience to eligible students that are also eligible to work in Ontario.

The SEO Program continues to be a project-based initiative that employs youth aged 15 to 24 years (up to 29 for persons with disabilities) provided by Employment Ontario's Integrated Employment Services, subject to approval. Should the UCDSB not be selected for this program grant, we will still proceed with the recruitment process.

This is a Non-Union position.

Hourly rate: $17.60 - $23.99 , commensurate with experience

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Manager, Human Resources, the Summer Student will support the Human Resources team in a variety of tasks including reviewing police records checks and follow up with employees, supporting the occasional recruitment and renewal process, assisting with annual school roll over processes, assisting with filing, and entering information into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other databases.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Students in Human Resources or Business Administration with a Human Resources focus would be considered an asset
  • Experience working in an office environment would be considered an asset
  • Minimum of a Secondary High School Diploma

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Well-developed verbal & written communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work as an effective team member and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision when required
  • Demonstrated ability to respect the confidentiality of information
