Role Description The Field Geologist / Field Scientist is a field based position. B.C. based applicants are welcome to apply. We are looking for 3-4 people to work from August to September in three week rotations on projects in central and South Eastern B.C. In these positions, you will conduct field investigations, including geological mapping, sampling, and data collection, under varying terrain and weather conditions. Day-to-day tasks include documenting observations, preparing field reports, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with project leads and team members to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality field operations. You will also support mentoring activities by sharing observations, participating in project discussions, and contributing to continuous improvement of field methodologies. These positions may open up to continue into the fall on a drill program in central B.C.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability in field work and geological mapping, including safe operation in remote or rugged environments. Experience with logging (e.g., drill core, outcrop descriptions) and systematic documentation of geological data. Knowledge of geophysics and its application to field programs, with the ability to assist in geophysical surveys and data collection. Familiarity with drilling operations and related field support activities, including coordination with drilling contractors. Enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong observational, analytical, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and data quality. Comfort working outdoors for extended periods and meeting the physical requirements of field work, following all safety and risk-management procedures. Proficiency with standard geological field tools and software (e.g., GPS, mapping applications, basic data management tools). Experience with GIS is an asset. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with an interest in learning from and contributing to mentoring-focused projects. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field sites as required.
