Key Responsibilities
- Incorporate The Sutherland Group’s Core Values: Curious and Adaptable, Trustworthy, Humbly Confident, Better Together, and Make it Happen.
- Support full-cycle HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Prepare and post job advertisements across appropriate channels and coordinate interview logistics.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and ensure a consistent, high-quality candidate experience.
- Partner with Payroll and Recruitment during new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
- Track probationary periods and ensure timely benefit and pension enrollments.
- Maintain HRIS accuracy and employee file integrity in accordance with company standards.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and employment standards.
- Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback to HR leadership for retention improvement.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and support consistency across The Sutherland Group’s HR practices.
Required Qualifications & Skills As a member of The Sutherland Group team, we expect you to bring the following to the table:
- Minimum 3 years of Human Resources experience, ideally within a multi-division or industrial setting.
- Working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Experience with HRIS systems (asset).
- Payroll or accounting experience (asset).
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proven ability to exercise confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment.
- A proactive, adaptable, and team-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- CHRP or CPHR designation (or in progress) is considered an asset.
