ABOUT OUR OPERATION

The objective of Sanajiksanut is to increase Inuit workforce in all of AEM’s Nunavut operations by contributing to the development of skills and competencies of the Inuit population in the Kivalliq region. The Sanajiksanut Process is composed of 4 steps: Employment Information Session, Online Application, Pre-employment Training, and Employment. In completing these stages of the Sanajiksanut Process, applicants will better prepare themselves for future employment with AEM or one of its contractors.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

• Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, Stick, or other processes as required;

• Fabricate and assemble metal structures according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications;

• Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and compliance with standards;

• Conduct visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) when necessary;

• Maintain welding tools and equipment in good working condition;

• Report and troubleshoot equipment issues promptly;

• Follow all workplace safety protocols, including PPE usage and hazard identification;

• Ensure compliance with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME);

• Complete work orders, welding logs, and inspection reports.
