About the role
Developer - Confluent/Apache Kafka: On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Developer - Confluent/Apache Kafka for a 3-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3-4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Developer - Confluent/Apache Kafka - Job Description: The project involves delivering Software Currency Remediation for FY26 and enhancing the Event Streaming Platform to meet security and compliance standards. The role focuses on addressing an immediate backlog of high-priority items to reduce risk across the event streaming ecosystem.
Developer - Confluent/Apache Kafka - Responsibilities:
- Contribute to development efforts on the real-time event streaming platform
- Build, integrate, and support software solutions
- Participate in code development, code reviews, and testing cycles
- Collaborate with product and technical teams to align on requirements and deliverables
- Attend technical meetings and provide expert input
- Support solution design and architecture discussions
- Ensure secure, compliant, high-quality deliverables
Developer - Confluent/Apache Kafka - Mandatory Skills:
- 10+ years of experience as a developer
- Experience with the client (bank) and specifically within Data Platforms team
- 1+ years’ experience with Confluent/Apache Kafka components (brokers, zookeepers, connects, schema registry, producers, consumers)
- 1+ years’ experience with Kubernetes
- Ability to work independently with minimal ramp-up time
- Strong technical depth and immediate productivity
- Quick learner and adaptability to evolving needs
Developer - Confluent/Apache Kafka – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- 1+ years’ experience with Spring Boot, microservices
- 1+ years’ experience with GCP (or Azure)
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Masters in a technical field
- Kafka certifications (developer, admin)
Developer - Confluent/Apache Kafka – Assignment Length: The contract duration is 3 months with a possibility of extension for another 4-5 months and conversion to FTE.
Developer - Confluent/Apache Kafka - Start Date: ASAP.
Developer - Confluent/Apache Kafka - Assignment Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Hybrid work arrangement with 3-4 days onsite based on business needs.
