ABOUT THIS JOB: The Retail Marketing Manager supports the Independent Pet Specialty sales team across all areas of retail and shopper marketing. This role is responsible for developing and executing customized marketing strategies and promotional programs designed to drive sales growth and strengthen relationships with our retail partners. Acting as the marketing lead for these accounts, the Retail Marketing Manager works cross-functionally with Sales, Brand, and Finance to deliver impactful retail initiatives that bring the Open Farm brand to life in-store.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Program Development: Design and execute in-store marketing programs—including activations, digital campaigns, co-branded content, and promotional calendars—to drive traffic, increase sales, and strengthen brand equity.
- Trade Show Execution: Lead all trade show planning and execution across North America, ensuring cohesive brand presentation and alignment with sales objectives.
- Sample Management: Oversee the product sample program by planning, coordinating, and distributing samples to drive trial and conversion across all customer segments within the NHP channel.
- Collaboration with Sales: Partner closely with the Key Account Sales team to align on priorities, coordinate execution, and seamlessly integrate marketing initiatives into broader account strategies. Develop localized marketing programs to support retailer growth.
- Sales Materials: Manage all selling materials, including innovation sell sheets, selling stories, ISO offers, point-of-sale (POS) materials, display programs, and coupon fulfillment.
- Online Training: Own the online training platform—develop and update content, manage program rollout, and engage the sales team to drive adoption and completion.
- Budget Management: Oversee allocated marketing budgets for key accounts, ensuring effective resource use, financial accuracy, and measurable ROI.
- Sales Support: Provide additional ad hoc marketing support as needed, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure strong alignment and execution across teams.
WHO YOU ARE:
- A strategic thinker with a proven ability to develop effective marketing strategies that can be scaled across retailers and programs.
- A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who takes ownership and drives initiatives from concept to execution.
- A collaborative leader with strong project management skills, capable of managing timelines, cross-functional teams, and multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in retail marketing, preferably within the CPG industry.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
