Are you curious to learn more about how we create value working with our global portfolio of companies? Do you want to solve real problems by bringing a new point of view? Do you thrive in a fast-paced working environment? If so, join Ontario Teachers’ Portfolio Solutions Group (PSG). We are looking for dedicated self-starters who share our passion for value creation and want to learn how we work with management and asset teams around the world.
The VC Team is a highly valued partner to deal teams, management teams, and Ontario Teachers’ global leadership. Value Creation capabilities have recently been centralized across the fund into a newly established group called Portfolio Solutions Group (PSG) to drive greater focus on delivering value creation plans pre- and post-deal during our ownership.
This role would be predominantly focused on the Infrastructure and Natural Resources (INR) asset classes but could involve exposure to other asset classes. Our work is project-based and provides exposure to a broad range of sectors including renewable energy, water utilities, and agriculture businesses.
If you are an excellent team player who can manage projects in an ambiguous environment and are interested in learning about asset management, then this is the opportunity for you.

The overall PSG team consists of over 35 investment professionals with a long track record of working with asset classes to drive returns.
What you'll do
As an Associate within the VCT (INR) team, you will be working on distinct projects that are meaningful to either an individual company, the INR portfolio or to the PSG functional Centres of Excellence that span across asset classes.
In particular, you will:
- Use your strong relationship management / consulting skills to work with investment professionals on real world problems and have the benefit of seeing your recommendations come to life within our portfolio companies
- Lead analyses (and potentially projects) on tough questions that drive towards the best outcome for PSG, INR and the Fund which could include initiatives related to growth, operational improvement, talent and governance, for example
- Identify key value drivers and risks in Infrastructure and Natural Resources companies to help determine priorities for PSG
- Work in an ambiguous environment where the answer is not always obvious
- Identify the ‘so what’ and think outside the box
- Learn about asset management for a diversified, global portfolio
- Prepare presentations and reports to senior investment professionals
- Have responsibilities that allow you to gain exposure to both the breadth and depth of our portfolio companies – you will have responsibilities for both key portfolio-wide initiatives, as well as, work on specific portfolio company projects
