Compliance Consultant (Remote - US or Canada)
About the role
TRACE is seeking a Compliance Consultant with strong research and writing skills with a demonstrated interest in international sports governance. This is an exciting opportunity, as the World Cup and Winter Olympics are approaching, and TRACE is frequently consulted for input on issues surrounding these events.
The Compliance Consultant will assist with various projects, including conducting research, writing and editing content, responding to inquiries, and assisting with TRACE programming efforts, and supporting TRACE president's sports governance work.
Duties will include the following:

Research sports governance best practices and review and revise model bylaws.

Research and suggest topics for possible posts to TRACE’s blog, BriberyMatters.com, or episodes for TRACE’s Bribe, Swindle, Steal podcast, or TRACE webinars

Solicit blog contributions from compliance professionals, lawyers, sports governance experts, and edit for posting
-
Write blog posts or articles
-
Research and draft interview questions for podcast
-
Research and draft/update compliance resources for TRACE’s Resource Center (e.g. white papers, articles, memes, compliance checklists and guidelines, etc.)
-
Support with TRACE webinars and events
-
other agreed upon projects/tasks
Qualifications:
-
Authorized to work in the United States or Canada
-
Current enrollment in an accredited law school or recent graduate
-
Demonstrated interest in international sports (e.g. Sports Law Journal; Sports Law concentration)
-
Excellent writing skills (media and technical)
-
Strong research skills
-
Professional and reliable
-
Ability to follow instructions and work independently on projects
The Position:

The pay is US$23/hour for hours actually worked; approximately 10-15 hours per week

Engagement is expected to last through July 2026, based on business need and performance Non-employment, contractor role- - not eligible for TRACE benefits.
