The role

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Cloud and Security practice. This is a delivery role with a consultative approach — you will work directly with client teams to design and implement modern cloud platforms while serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout the engagement.

You will lead cloud architecture and platform engineering engagements, collaborate with our AI & Application Modernization practice on migration and modernization programs, and help clients move beyond traditional infrastructure management toward platforms that enable their teams to build and ship software faster. Your work will span the full engagement lifecycle, from initial assessment and architecture through implementation and operational maturity.

This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical capability with strong client instincts, and who is excited about experimenting with new technologies, automation, and AI-assisted development tools.

Key responsibilities

Assessment & advisory

• Lead discovery sessions to understand client business objectives, technical landscape, and pain points
• Perform cloud health checks, assessments, and readiness evaluations
• Translate business requirements into technical cloud solutions and actionable roadmaps

Architecture & design

• Design cloud architectures across Azure and AWS environments, aligned to security, Zero Trust, and governance standards
• Lead architecture sessions covering cloud platforms, landing zones, identity and access management, and networking
• Design internal developer platforms, cloud foundations, and reusable “golden path” deployment patterns, including infrastructure automation, environment provisioning, policy enforcement, and developer self-service
• Develop architecture documentation, reference architectures, and technical roadmaps

Implementation & delivery

• Implement cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation
• Build CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and automated infrastructure deployments with reusable modules and standardized templates
• Collaborate with the AI & Application Modernization practice to execute migration and modernization programs
• Work directly alongside client engineering teams, providing technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and troubleshooting across production environments

Operations & optimization

• Implement observability and monitoring using platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, Dynatrace, or OpenTelemetry, including dashboards, alerting strategies, and operational playbooks
• Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve system reliability and operational maturity
• Analyze cloud usage and recommend cost optimization strategies — tagging, cost governance, and budget monitoring — to mature clients’ FinOps practices
• Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to client teams to ensure sustained capability beyond the engagement

Innovation & continuous improvement

• Help clients explore innovative approaches to building and operating in the cloud, including AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot), automation frameworks, and modern platform tooling
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to validate emerging technologies and bring a considered perspective on what accelerates engineering productivity versus what is not yet proven
• Develop reusable intellectual property — templates, best practices, operations runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials — that strengthen JOT’s delivery capability
• Provide mentorship and technical support to other consultants within JOT

Qualifications Required

• 6–10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles
• 3+ years designing cloud architectures in Azure, AWS, or multi-cloud environments
• Hands-on experience building infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent) and implementing CI/CD pipelines
• Strong knowledge of networking, identity and access management, distributed systems, and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions, with strong troubleshooting and incident response skills
• Demonstrated experience in consulting, professional services, or client-facing technical delivery
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead workshops, present to diverse audiences, and produce clear technical documentation

Preferred

• Platform engineering or internal developer platform experience
• GitOps workflows, cloud migration programs, or FinOps / cloud governance experience
• Experience experimenting with AI-assisted engineering tools and building reusable cloud platform templates or frameworks
• Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Terraform Associate, or CKA
