Our nursing home is a 100-bed person-centered care home located in Sussex, New Brunswick. You will be joining approximately 150 other caring and amazing staff members who interact daily with our residents and their families.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Administrator, our Human Resources Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the performance of all HR related functions for the organization. Although you are always working within a team, you are independently responsible for the management and execution of all HR functions. You will support and advise department managers and employees in the areas of workforce planning, recruitment/retention, training and development, disability claims management, attendance management, conflict resolution, and so much more.

You will also be part of a dedicated leadership team of six professionals who lead with heart.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the total recruitment process, including coordination of internal and external job postings, conducting interviews, and attending recruitment networking events such as job fairs; occasional travel required;

  • Lead all onboarding processes such as coordinating start dates, administering necessary employee documents, and conducting general orientation days;

  • Provide therapeutic support for employees as needed with an open door policy;

  • Support department managers or employees in conflict resolution situations;

  • Lead the coordination of safety programs, disability claims management, and return to work programs through WorkSafeNB;

  • Track employee absenteeism and manage attendance support program;

  • Facilitate progressive disciplinary action for staff, as needed;

  • Coordinate annual staff education;

  • Compile, maintain, and update personnel files;

  • Develop and administer human resource policies, procedures, and programs for the organization;

  • Sit on various committees within your areas of responsibility

What we hope you can offer us:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, focused in Human Resources;

  • Minimum of two years relevant management experience performing a varied range of human resources functions;

  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication;

  • Exceptional time management, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills;

  • The successful candidate will be a leader who takes personal initiative, uses discretion, and preserves confidentiality;

  • Experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset;

  • CPHR designation is considered an asset.
