THE ROLE : The Field Service Technician Level 1 will be responsible for start-up and commissioning of projects, preventative maintenance, and basic submersible wastewater pump (Flygt) and control panel troubleshooting at customer sites. Product specific training will be provided. Will interact with customers.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily after sufficient training is provided.
- Evaluate, repair, and conduct hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps
- Basic troubleshooting of electrical control panels
- Basic understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams
- Assist with start-ups and emergency callouts
- Operating and maintaining a service truck with crane and out-riggers
- Operating industrial equipment in a shop environment such as forklift, overhead cranes, etc.
- Working with various Company provided hand and power tools
- Accurate record keeping inside Xylem’s work order management system
- Create and maintain a safe and organized working environment and culture within the organization and following protocols at customer locations
- Take care of company property
- Demonstrates High Impact Culture through innovation, accountability and empowerment
- Must be able to function in a team environment
- Usually works with direct supervision but can work independently if needed
Travel Requirements
- Some travel required (overnight stays, away from home)

Qualifications Education Requirements
- HS diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- 0 to 2 years of technical work experience, 1 year preferred
Skill Requirements
- Electrically and mechanically inclined
- Demonstrates critical thinking and troubleshooting ability
- Comprehend technical information and communicate it clearly
- Experience with Microsoft Office and smart devices
Day In The Life In this role, the working environment is an industrial shop setting where use of PPE is required. May also include exposure to hazardous material and loud noises. The physical demands may include but are not limited to, standing and lifting to 50 lb. In addition, this role may require overtime, and travel may be needed for training sessions.
