Job Description We are looking for an experienced Systems Field Engineer/Coordinator who will be responsible for defined coordination activities occurring across the systems construction group:
- Communications
- Signaling
- Traction Power
- Overhead Catenary System
What You'll Be Doing
- Responsible for supervising the Systems warehouse and the associated budget.
- Participate in the warehouse cost control monthly and report deviations to the systems segment manager, if any.
- Monitor the inventories and report to accounting for the various Systems disciplines.
- Gather data from each Systems’ group and prepare reporting with systems segment manager for upper management.
- Gather data and monitor the Cost Of Non-Quality (CONQ) log for all systems.
- Monitor the snagging log for all systems.
- Implementation and monitoring of the systems installation progress trackers.
- Monitoring systems readiness trackers with Systems teams and their predecessors, and report to the Systems manager.
- Participate in Scheduling workshops for the various Systems disciplines to plan the works and pre-requisites required from other segments.
- Gather data from each Systems’ group and prepare reporting as requested by the systems segment manager.
- Represent the Systems group in meetings, audits or similar events as required.
- Actively represent the company in a professional manner at all times by providing clear on-site communication / clear understandable works reports / regular communication with the concerned parties responsible for timely escalation of any issues or occurrences.
- Other duties assigned by Line Manager.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering
- 3+ years of proven experience in a previous similar role
- Experience with Overhead Catenary Systems, Signaling, Communications and Traction Power is an asset
- Heavy civil construction experience, preferably in LRT or similar public infrastructure projects
- Good user of all Microsoft Office tools & AutoCad.
- Good communication skills, ability to plan and organize daily activities, action-oriented, high ability to analyze and resolve problems, ability to perform under pressure and able to be flexible and adapt to dynamic environments.
- Ability to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, steep/ slippery terrain, walking, and working outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather and conditions
