Your Opportunity:
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to grow and develop as a leader as part of the SHC ICU/CCU team. The SHC ICU/CCU is a 12 bed ICU and 2 bed CCU which also supports site Code Blue and Outreach responses. Reporting to the ICU/CCU Manager, the Unit Manager (UM) is a key leadership role supporting the unit goals as well as the vision and mission of Alberta Health Services. Through clinical leadership, mentoring and coaching the UM promotes excellence, safety and ensures evidence based, quality patient and family centred care.
Description:
The UM responsibilities includes both day-to-day operational duties and long term planning for the unit. Scheduling, recruitment, retention, performance development and performance management are key roles of this position. Resolving patient, family and staff concerns coordination of equipment, supply management and quality improvement initiatives are also core roles.
Positive and productive relationships with all interdisciplinary teams supporting the ICU/CCU is essential to this role as are relationships with site, zone and provincial partners and stakeholders.
Promotion of a healthy work environment that focuses on workplace health and safety, psychological safety and team culture are also of paramount importance to this job.

Required Qualifications:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
Minimum of 5 years of critical care experience within the last 10 years.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Strong time management, critical thinking abilities, ability to work independently and within a team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-directed, highly motivated and able to function effectively in stressful and dynamic situations.
Additional Required Qualifications:
As required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous management experience is preferred to be successful in this position.
Experience with Human Resources Business Partnerships (HRBP) and familiarity with union group collective agreements is an asset.
Demonstrated skills and ability in conflict resolution and leading through times of change.
Previous leadership experience in critical care preferred.
Experience with RMS, WFM, ConnectCare, RLS and MSN management, Oracle, i-expense
