The Senior Business Analyst (SBA) supports Enterprise Delivery by shaping work
before and during delivery. This role translates business needs into clear requirements, supports discovery, improves scope clarity, and ensures initiatives are sufficiently understood before they move into planning and execution.
The Senior Business Analyst is critical to improving intake quality, reducing
ambiguity, supporting discovery readiness, and ensuring delivery teams are not starting work with unclear scope, weak requirements, unresolved decisions, or incomplete stakeholder alignment.

- Support readiness for discovery by ensuring scope, objectives, stakeholders, requirements, and delivery considerations are sufficiently understood.

- Translate business needs into process maps, requirements documentation, decision records, and traceability artifacts.
- Identify gaps, conflicts, ambiguities, and unresolved requirements that could impact delivery.
- Support prioritization of requirements with sponsors, product owners, PMs, and delivery teams.
- Ensure requirements remain aligned through delivery and do not drift without formal decisioning.
Stakeholder and Process Alignment
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, walkthroughs, and working sessions with business and technology stakeholders.
- Support alignment between strategy, portfolio intent, product/platform teams, project delivery, shared services, and operational teams.
- Document current-state and future-state processes.
- Identify operational impacts, business readiness needs, training implications, and transition considerations.
- Surface decision points and escalation needs early.
Delivery Support
- Partner with Senior PMs and Project Managers to support planning, scope management, change control, testing readiness, implementation planning, and transition-to-operations.
- Support backlog refinement, sprint/PDC planning, UAT planning, business readiness, and operational impact assessment where applicable.
- Support traceability from business outcomes to requirements, delivery scope, testing, implementation, and benefits realization.
Key Deliverables

- Strong analytical thinking and problem decomposition
- Ability to convert ambiguity into structured options and decisions
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Experience supporting complex enterprise initiatives
- Understanding of Agile, hybrid, waterfall, and PDC-style delivery environments
- Ability to work closely with PMs and product owners without becoming a project administrator
Success Measures
- Improved quality of discovery and intake artifacts
- Fewer initiatives entering planning with unclear scope
- Reduced rework due to missed or misunderstood requirements
- Improved stakeholder alignment before execution begins
- Stronger linkage between business outcomes and delivery scope
- Improved requirements traceability and decision quality
