The Senior Analyst is responsible for developing complex reports and dashboards while optimizing and automating reporting workflows. Primarily supporting the Distribution business within MI, this role ensures reporting efficiency, accuracy, and scalability by managing the reporting environment, leveraging automation tools, and adhering to data governance standards. Additionally, the Senior Analyst collaborates with stakeholders to integrate multiple data sources, improve report usability, and enhance reporting performance.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities include:
Report Development
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of all reporting outputs.
- Enhance report usability by improving layout, visualization techniques, and user experience.
- Develop communications and artefacts that effectively orient users to the data and reports.
Reporting Optimization
- Leverage automation tools to streamline report generation and delivery.
- Continuously improve reporting processes by identifying and implementing automation opportunities.
- Work with MI data office pods to integrate multiple data sources into automated reporting solutions.
Reporting Environment Management
- Manage and oversee access to reports, ensuring the right stakeholders have appropriate permissions.
- Maintain and monitor the functionality of reporting tools.
- Manage version control and change management processes to ensure stability and traceability of reporting solutions.
- Ensure reports and dashboards adhere to data governance policies and reporting standards.
Troubleshooting and Support
- Lead the monitoring of report performance, identifying bottlenecks, and ensuring reports are running efficiently and meet business needs.
- Act as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting complex issues related to report accuracy, data integrity, and tool functionality.
- Provide expert support to stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution of reporting issues and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Provide regular support for database management and updates
The following qualifications will assist the successful candidate in carrying out these responsibilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineer or related field
- 2+ years of experience in financial reporting, management reporting, business intelligence or a related field
- Tableau Desktop Specialist or Certified Professional
- Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst
- SQL or database management certifications
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar tools.
- Strong SQL skills for querying, transforming, and integrating data from multiple sources.
- Experience with Python, R, or other automation tools to streamline reporting workflows.
- Knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot reporting issues, optimize queries, and improve dashboard efficiency.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical reporting solutions and collaborate with stakeholders
