About the Role
The Filament Winding Technician will be responsible for the setup and operation of the Filament Winding machines within our Composites facility. You will work with other machine operators to ensure that our products meet the required specifications, while maintaining quality standards and production goals.
Position Details
Status: 3-month Contract
Location: Calgary, AB (NE Area)
Duties and Responsibilities

Protect the health and safety of workers and promote safe work.

Supervise workers in a healthy and safe manner and follow OHS legislation.
-
Ensure workers are not subject to or participate in harassment and violence.
-
Advising workers of all known or reasonably foreseeable work hazards, including controls to protect.
-
Ensure hazard controls are being followed and are correctly being used by workers.
-
Reporting health and safety concerns and conditions to their employer.
-
Cooperate with any person exercising a duty under the OHS legislation.
-
Preparing molds and/or mandrels for the winding process.
-
Ensure that the correct winding program has been selected.
-
Proper preparation of resin mixture.

Following established operating procedures for Filament Winding machines
- Monitor and adjust machines, as required
- Ensure application of fibers and resin meets guidelines.

Inspecting finished products to maintain quality standards.
Required Abilities, Knowledge, Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Experience with Filament machines or Composite manufacturing is preferred.
-
Able to read technical drawings and specifications.
-
Strong attention to detail.
-
Able to stand for long periods of time.
-
Able to move equipment, materials and supplies up to 23 kg (50 lbs.).

Able to communicate effectively with different levels of the business.
