Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and certified Aquafitness Instructor to lead our morning Aquafitness class (schedule outlined below). This role works closely with the Fitness & Aquatics Manager to deliver engaging, safe, and effective aquatic fitness programs for our members. Contractor rate starting at $60.00 per class/ based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule: **Monday:**9:15 – 11:00 AM
**Tuesday:**9:15 – 11:00 AM
**Wednesday:**9:15 – 11:00 AM
**Thursday:**8:15 AM
Key Responsibilities
- Instruct and lead dynamic Aquafitness classes suitable for various skill levels.
- Plan, design, and implement engaging water-based workouts for both shallow and deep-end participants.
- Monitor and correct participants' form to ensure proper technique and safety.
- Ensure all equipment is set up, operational, and stored properly after class.
- Work with the Fitness & Aquatics Manager to introduce new class offerings.
- Maintain a high standard of safety and emergency preparedness at all times.
- Communicate and enforce facility policies and class procedures in a professional manner.
- Provide outstanding customer service, including engaging with members and addressing concerns.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
- Report any incidents, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to the Fitness & Aquatics Manager.
Qualifications & Certifications (Required)
- One of the following current Aquafitness certifications:
- WaterArt – Aquafitness Instructor
- Canadian Aquafitness Leaders Alliance Instructor
- Group Land Fitness Certification with Aquafitness specialization
- CPR & AED Certification (must be current)
- Minimum 1 year of experience leading group fitness classes, with previous aquatics-based exercise instruction preferred.
