UHN’s vision is to build A Healthier World and it’s only because of the talented and dedicated people who work here that we are continually bringing that vision closer to reality. www.uhn.ca Job Description Union: Non-Union Number of Vacancies: 1 Replacement or New: Replacement Site: Research Solutions & Services (RSS) at OPG Department: Strategic Research Projects Reports to: Manager, Strategic Research Projects Hours: 37.5 per week Salary: $43.08 - $53.85 per hour Status: Temporary Full-Time (Approximately 12 months) Closing Date: August 5, 2026 Position Summary The Research Strategy Development Specialist I works closely with the Manager, Director and other stakeholders to support the development and implementation of institution-level strategic projects. The development specialist helps with documentation of existing and future states, tracking and analysis for planning and execution of the projects. They will build relationships and strong communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and development of both risk and change management plans.
Duties
Analyze business needs, problems, opportunities, and solution scope Evaluate and validate solution value and benefits to the organization, supporting business case development and return on investment analysis Facilitate process and design workshops with multidisciplinary groups to identify, validate, and document clinical, business and technical requirements Conduct workflow review and process redesign, and support continuous improvement processes Coordinate system design, build and testing Apply rigorous project management techniques to assist in the management and documentation of project plans, schedules, status reports, and budgets Apply sound change management techniques for effective stakeholder engagement and communications, training, and implementation support Develop adequate level of knowledge of the subject matter and digital systems being implemented to effectively move projects forward Build and maintain momentum on project progress through tracking project milestones, risks and issues, proactive stakeholder engagement, driving issue resolution to deliver project within the planned budget, schedule, and with a high level of quality Qualifications BA/BSc in Health Informatics or Administration, Technology, Science, Business, or related field (graduate degree preferred), and have practical and related experience in the field Experience supporting research administration, study start-up, or research operations an asset Sound knowledge of project management standards Experience in applying change management methodologies and tools Project Management Professional (PMP) or Change Management certification an asset Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, experience with workshop facilitation an asset Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize and get things done Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with ambiguity Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies an asset Additional Information Why join UHN?
