TITLE: Occupational Therapist I STATUS: 1.0 FTE - Permanent
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Occupational Therapist works closely with other disciplines to enhance the independence and quality of life for
residents. The Occupational Therapist will consult, assess, and intervene with the aim of improving and/or maintaining
independence and dignity in activities of daily living. In addition, the Occupational Therapist will fulfill a role as an integral
member of the Education Services team, participating in the development and delivery of educational opportunities for
The Bethany Group and for other organizations throughout Alberta as an outreach delivery method. Working as part of a
dynamic team, educators will develop and deliver current and comprehensive learning opportunities to meet all learning
needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
(Education; Experience/Training; Knowledge; Licenses/Certificates; Membership Requirements)
- Bachelor of Science of Occupational Therapy /graduation from an accredited university Occupational Therapy
Program; Membership in the Alberta Association of Registered Occupational Therapists

Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Registered Occupational Therapists
-
Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Authorizer status required

CPR and Emergency First Aid required

PIECES training an asset
REQUIREMENTS:
• Develops, plans, implements and provides follow up of occupational therapy services for clients in cooperation
with the interdisciplinary team
- Participates in the authorization of Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) equipment and supplies and actively
maintains current knowledge of AADL program benefits as appropriate
- Assists with orientation and mentorship of new staff, and provides direction to therapy assistant and support
personnel
- Makes day-to-day clinical decisions regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up of clients
SHIFT INFORMATION
Mandatory LAPP membership for permanent Part-time and Full-time employees that work a 0.7 FTE or greater (see policy FS 03-04)
Hours per shift: 7.75hrs Shift pattern: Days Shifts per Cycle:
Commencement Date: TBD Int: OT1_RPP-01, OT1_ORED-01
PAY RANGE: As per collective agreement
