Position Status: Temporary Part Time Term Ends: May 18, 2026 Location: Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre, Recreation Therapy LTC BW Hours: 56.00 FTE: 0.72 Shift: Days Shift Times: 0945-1715 Union: Non Union GSS Rate of Pay: $21.11 - $23.57 PCN: 261WTAd02
Date Competition Closes: February 11, 2026 The Opportunity
Position Summary: Under close supervision, and in accordance with established policies, procedures and care plans, performs a variety of routine client care support activities to optimize the functional abilities of residents. Duties may include assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), instructing craft classes, assisting with social events, group exercises and games. Responsible for other related duties as required.
Program Summary: EQuaL (Enabling Quality of Life) – for adults aged 18 to 64 who have disabilities related to a disease or condition, such as multiple sclerosis or a brain injury, currently requiring the full-time support of a continuing care centre.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduation from Grade 12
- Current and active Basic Life Support Provider CPR is required
- PCA, Certificate in leisure activities or equivalent
- Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience
- Related experience in a hospital or continuing care facility is preferred
- Geriatric experience is an asset
- Program specific training/experience is an asset
