The BC Cancer Team in Vancouver is Hiring! Lead Strategic Records Management & Registration Services Across BC’s Health Authorities Are you a strategic and forward-thinking leader with expertise in health information governance and a passion for service excellence? BC Cancer is seeking a Regional Manager, Records Management and Registration Services to oversee the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of records management and registration operations across British Columbia’s leading health organizations—including Fraser Health, Vancouver Coastal Health, Providence Health Care, and the Provincial Health Services Authority.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Information Access and Privacy or Health Informatics.
  • Seven (7) years of recent, related experience in a large multi-site organization, including a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a leadership or management role including facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of partner groups or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Eligible for registration at the Certificate level with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) preferred.

Skills And Abilities

  • Deep knowledge of records management practices, release of information, and relevant legislation (e.g., FIPPA).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage resources, drive change, and implement complex projects effectively.
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, especially in complex or evolving situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
  • Familiarity with electronic health systems, budgeting, prioritization, and the use of related software tools.

Your Day to Day

  • Service Oversight Plan and manage Records Management and Registration services, setting priorities and coordinating daily operations.
  • Policy Development Create, revise, and implement policies and standards to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Compliance & Privacy Ensure adherence to legal and organizational requirements, including FOIPPA, through audits and staff education.
  • Team Leadership Supervise and support Managers and Coordinators, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Strategic Direction Provide leadership in records management innovation, aligning practices with emerging trends and organizational goals.
  • Budget Management Develop and monitor operating and capital budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Partner Collaboration Build strong relationships with internal partners to align services with organizational needs and priorities.
  • Data Integrity & Security Safeguard the quality, security, and accessibility of clinical information across formats and systems.
